The Trump administration decided to delay the decision regarding H4 visa. This is supposed to be a good news, but it has nothing but confused the Indian techies working in the US. After months of anticipation,  WhatsApp  rolled out its payments feature to select users across the country to much enthusiasm this week, providing a strong boost to India’s  digital payments  ecosystem. But that didn’t almost happen because of the company’s foreign origin. Turns out, this was WhatsApp’s second endeavour to enter India’s payments market. Last year, the messaging app, the largest in India, tried to partner with a private bank in the country to develop a digital wallet app to facilitate payments on its platform. SAP has collaborated with an Indian state government to offer skill development program. The initiative is planned to train the engineering students on technologies like AI, IoT, and blockchain. With the adoption of emerging technologies, it has become increasingly difficult to find jobs. State and central governments are collaborating with tech companies to create jobs in relevant technologies. SAP has collaborated with Karnataka government’s Department of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science & Technology (ITBT and S&T).  The collaborative plan is to support train 15,000 people on emerging technologies like IoT, blockchain and AI. In one of the biggest fraud cases to hit Indian banking, the country's second-largest lender Punjab National Bank (PNB) informed stock exchanges on Wednesday that it has been hit by embezzlement amounting to Rs 11,300 crore at one of its branches in Mumbai. Here is how the fraud took place: 1. The scam started in 2011. We ourselves found out about the fraud and reported it to the concerned agencies, Punjab National Bank (PNB) MD Sunil Mehta said in a presser on Thursday. 2. We detected the fraud on January 3. We got to know that 2 of our employees did some un-authorized transactions. The bank initiated criminal action against our staff members, the PNB MD said. This is a standalone incident. Edtech startup IMAX Program has announced that it has raised $13.5 million in its latest round of funding. The investment was advised by LGT Impact, the impact investment team of LGT. The round also saw participation from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF), and Aspada, an existing investor in the company. The IMAX Program includes textbooks, workbooks, school exams, feedback reports and individualised remedial worksheets along with teacher manuals and teacher training modules.
