Indian IT industry to employ 15,000 cybersecurity experts in 2018

Increasing fear of cyber attacks has created new market opportunity in cybersecurity sector. The demand for cybersecurity professionals has gone up by 3x in the last one year. The industry has over 15,000 open positions related to cybersecurity.
India’s cybersecurity measures are fairly poor as compared to some of the developed nations. The country needs to put in extra efforts to fight against cyber attacks. The adoption of internet and smartphones will further boost the demand in cybersecurity domain. A report by Belong research suggests a great spike in cybersecurity jobs this year.
An outbound recruitment solution, Belong has published a report based on job postings by companies that recruit cyber professionals on multiple platforms. The report states, “As companies seek to bolster their defense against data security breaches, the demand for cybersecurity experts in India has outstripped supply of these professionals by three times over the past 12 months.”
The demand for cybersecurity professionals will continue to go up with the rise of Interest, e-commerce and customer awareness on cybersecurity. The report says that the companies will be on a hiring spree to secure data and systems. The demand for cybersecurity professions in tech and non-tech roles will continue to increase.
There are over 10,000 to 15,000 open positions related to cybersecurity in the industry. The demand will be triggered by the companies working in technology, banking, financial services and insurance (BSFI) sectors. Most of these jobs will be found in top 10 IT hubs such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi.
Rishabh Kaul, the co-founder of Belong said, “With the demand escalating, there may also rise in expats hiring, especially for the mid-level or senior level roles where experience is needed. There is also a possibility of companies hiring a senior level professional, who will be based in some other country, to lead a team here in the country.”
Most tech giants are currently struggling to improve their cybersecurity expertise and measures. With the dynamically changing technologies, IT firms have started focusing on cybersecurity and retaining the tech talent in the country. IT professionals can reskill themselves to bag the newly created opportunities in cybersecurity.

Demand is off the charts for blockchain talent, and the capital is waiting to back it up. More than $3.7 billion has been raised through ICOs in the United States alone. Blockchain-related jobs are the second-fastest growing in today’s labor market; there are now 14 job openings for every one blockchain developer. And as Nick Szabo, the developer who coined “smart contracts,” pointed out, there is an extreme “ $/knowledge ” ratio in the blockchain space, where capital by far outpaces talent. Canadian professor Marshall McLuhan, who predicted the internet and the impact it would have, had famously said: As technology advances, it reverses the characteristics of every situation again and again. The age of automation is going to be the age of 'do it yourself.' How is Automation Anywhere aiding automation democratization to make automation accessible to everyone? Let me explain the problem that we are trying to solve. Every enterprise today has hundreds of systems but less 10-15% of the systems can actually talk to each other. Rest of the systems don’t have API’s and don’t talk...
